Jon Toral, now 29 and playing for Mumbai City, once dreamt of emulating Cesc Fabregas at Arsenal. Inspired by Fabregas’ journey, Toral joined the Gunners in 2011. However, limited first-team opportunities led him down a different path.
Loan spells at various clubs followed before a permanent move to Hull City in 2017. Reflecting on his career, Toral acknowledges the near-impossibility of replicating Fabregas’ success.
Now in India, Toral seeks a holistic experience beyond football, including personal growth and security. He joined Mumbai City in the summer, attracted by the City Football Group’s support and a desire to explore a new culture.
With a trophy in sight, Toral’s journey continues, taking him far from his initial Arsenal aspirations but towards new dreams in Mumbai.
