The European Super League is set to be relaunched as the Unity League with some major changes. The league will be free to watch with ads or with a paid subscription. Clubs will not be guaranteed a place and permission will be asked from UEFA to operate the competition. The league will involve 96 clubs, eventually filtering down to 32 teams split into two leagues and four groups. Every team will play the other seven in their group home and away, with the top two from each group advancing to the quarter-finals. The knockout rounds will consist of a two-legged tie followed by two single-game semi-finals and a final. Currently, only Barcelona and Real Madrid are backing the rebranded version, but that could change soon.
