Alessia Russo is enjoying a resurgence under interim manager Renee Slegers. After a slow start to the season, the striker has scored 10 goals in her last 10 appearances, including four consecutive Player of the Match awards.
“I’m feeling good,” Russo said. “I’m enjoying my football, and I play my best when I’m happy.”
Slegers is pleased with Russo’s contributions. “She’s doing really, really well,” Slegers said. “She gets at the end of it but also does a lot of hard work in other phases of the game out and in possession.”
Russo’s form has been so impressive that some have joked that the Arsenal men’s team should borrow her. With her confidence soaring, Russo looks poised to continue firing Arsenal towards glory this season.
