On This Day: Andrew Johnson joins Palace (2002)

Andrew Johnson arrived at Crystal Palace in 2002, swapping clubs with Clinton Morrison. After a slow start, Johnson exploded onto the scene, scoring prolifically, including back-to-back hat-tricks. His 32 goals fired Palace to promotion, followed by 21 Premier League goals, earning him a PFA Team of the Year spot and England caps. A Palace Centenary XI inclusion cemented his legendary status before departing for Everton in 2006.
