Chelsea agree Jorrel Hato transfer as defender set to become eighth signing

Chelsea nears £37m deal for Ajax’s versatile defender Jorrel Hato. The 18-year-old Dutchman agreed to a seven-year contract and will soon undergo a medical at Stamford Bridge. Hato primarily plays left-back, providing competition for Marc Cucurella. He becomes Chelsea’s eighth summer signing, with the club also pursuing Hato’s international teammate Xavi Simons.
